WORK ON BEHALF OF THE UMCKALOABO FOUNDATION

Many people are active and in motion on behalf of the Foundation. Thanks to their commitment, the Umckaloabo Foundation now has numerous contributors, and campaigns such as the Africa Runners have dynamic support all around the world. These donors are the heart and soul of the Umckaloabo Foundation. The diversity of their activities has greatly increased the volume of donations we receive.

• For many years now, the finance-management company SK Vermögensverwaltung has held a golf tournament every other year to benefit the Umckaloabo Foundation. The funds raised there are given in full to one of our projects. As a result, we successfully supported the Samara Foundation this year with a gift of €16,500.

• Dedicated people raise funds for the Foundation’s projects in large and small ways of all kinds. This can take many forms: perhaps participants in a project trip might spontaneously ask friends and family to help improve the infrastructure at a daycare center in the Eastern Cape or to support an organization such as Children in Distress. Others might request donations in lieu of presents at a birthday party or wedding celebration so they can support a project close to their hearts. The Karlsruhe Rotary Club raised €20,000 for elementary schools in the Eastern Cape. Our  donations page makes it as easy as can be to start your own fundraising campaign.

• Every year we receive special support from the Catholic youth group KJG Ettlingen. One group of dedicated young people has already raised nearly €70,000 for the project “A School In Africa” through its annual fun runs. In 2023 a group of them traveled to Malawi to see our projects there, and in 2026 another group will go to South Africa.

• Within the Schwabe Group there are devoted employees who work hand in hand with pharmacies or take part in other creative endeavors to buy textbooks for schools in Malawi or help back the Jabulani Daycare Center.

Initiatives and people like this are what encourage us. Their zeal and creativity are what consistently bring new energy to the Umckaloabo Foundation.
