Sister Loice Kashangura, our project partner in Zambia, with a team of Africa Runners

The Africa Runners of the Umckaloabo Foundation set a new record in 2024: In 56 fundraising campaigns in various countries, they raised a total of 55,000 euros for this year's project “A School in Africa” - namely for five elementary school in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Thanks to the Schwabe Group doubling the amount by up to 50,000 euros, we are delighted to have raised 105,000 euros!

KjG Ettlingen raises 32,500 euros in donations

Our special thanks go to the KjG St. Martin in Ettlingen: At their charity run on May 4, 125 runners ran 2,748 laps (1,374 kilometers) and raised an additional fantastic sum of 32,500 euros.

Better infrastructure and educational quality at five primary schools

The donations will enable us to remedy the sometimes serious structural defects in the school buildings and improve the didactic and educational quality, particularly in reading and writing lessons. Work will begin immediately so that the first successes will be visible as early as next year.

100,000 of the total proceeds from the Africa Runners will go to the five elementary school in Whittlesea. In addition, we will be able to support the Ekuphumleni Secondary School in Whittlesea in rebuilding five classrooms that burned down in 2024.
