The new building for the Lavel'ilanga Montessori daycare center in Walmer Township, South Africa, supported by the Umckaloabo Foundation, has been completed, furnished and equipped with a beautiful outdoor area. Children and parents were able to “test” the new daycare center at an open day. From mid-January, when the new school year begins in South Africa, regular operations will start for the children.

Significant contribution to early childhood education

The Lavel'ilanga daycare center makes a significant contribution to early childhood education in Walmer Township - and even beyond, thanks to its professional networking with other early childhood education institutions.

The new daycare center was completed in a sprint, as kindergarten construction only officially began in May 2024. Completion took place in October 2024. The outdoor area has also been completed. Climbing frames, swings and other play areas promote the children's motor skills - and are fun!

Long-standing partner for high-quality education

The Masifunde education center is a long-standing partner of the Umckaloabo Foundation, with whom we have already supported numerous high-quality education projects for children and young people. It is particularly noteworthy that Masifunde exchanges and networks with other educational initiatives so that the region can benefit to the maximum from each measure.
