SOUTH AFRICA – Schwabe employees supporting a daycare center in the Eastern Cape

In early March, six employees of the Schwabe Group in Germany and Austria had the opportunity to take a trip they financed themselves so they could get to know the projects that the Umckaloabo Foundation supports in South Africa.

Donations for daycare

The participants were deeply moved by their experiences: they encountered warm-hearted open people as well as poverty and desperation in many places. As a result, they spontaneously organized a fund-raising drive to support a cause that became very dear to their hearts.

One warm meal a day

The Sizamile Educare daycare center in the Eastern Cape currently consists of a simple room with no infrastructure. If the facility had a kitchen, they could at least offer the minimum standard of giving each child one warm meal a day. Having a kitchen would also be the prerequisite for state that would underwrite items such as groceries.

Your donation would allow the daycare center not only to build a kitchen but to acquire other equipment as well. The group thus hopes that you will join them in supporting the children! Click here to get to the campaign.

A journey of a thousand miles …

… begins with a single step: local women came together to establish the Sizamile Educare daycare center, which the Umckaloabo Foundation supports along with the Samara Foundation, so that children in their community could have a place where they could come together to play, to learn, to grow – and to be fed. The daycare is still at an early phase, so every cent it receives is an intelligent investment in helping it develop properly and training its employees. Our contributions have already made a major difference in many places throughout the Eastern Cape as well as the Jabulani Day-Care Center.
