For St. Francis and Clare Secondary School in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, 2024 was a year with many highlights and excellent results. St. Francis and Clare pupils received awards in numerous national science and language competitions.
Many pupils from very poor families are also successful. This is made possible by their ambition, school support - and very often a sponsorship!

Just as we have sponsors who support several young people, there are also sponsorships that are financed by several people from a family, a department or a group of friends. Such a team sponsorship is also possible!

Among the award-winning students with excellent performance are numerous sponsored students. The school promotes the motivation of all pupils. The aim is to enable everyone to develop their personal potential. Some of those who have successfully completed school go on to study at universities in Zambia or abroad.
Seeing such positive developments encourages us to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to attend school, including those from very poor families. With the positive support of the teachers and their own ambition, the sponsored pupils can achieve a great deal.
St. Francis and Clare - lighthouse project since 2020
St. Francis and Clare Secondary School in Lusaka was opened in 2020 thanks to donations from Africa Runners 2017 and with the support of the Umckaloabo Foundation. Since then, it has been able to develop in terms of infrastructure and pedagogy and pave the way for a bright future for many young people.
